Need A Wake Up Call for your Annual Report State Filing?
Your Annual Report filed with the Colorado Secretary of State is relatively straightforward. Since it does not involve any financial figures, my clients (or their attorneys) typically go online, change any appropriate information (address of the business or name & address of registered agent) and pay the $10 filing fee. (Between us, the credit card payment module takes more time then the reporting form itself).
Ah – but remembering to do it is a different challenge. Typically prior filers should have received a reminder postcard approximately 60 days before the filing due date. In fact, you should have received two separate reminder cards.
Here’s the “workaround” to ensure the wake-up call is on time.
Go online and “set up email notification” (steps shown below) so that future reminders are emailed to you rather than relying on both the USPS and building mailrooms.
1. Go to http://www.sos.state.co.us/
2. Click on “search the business database”
3. Type in your company name
4. Click on “12345678901” under # ID Number
5. Scroll down and click on “set up email notification”
6. Select “subscribe for email notification for this entity”
7. Simply click on send (and do not enter any text)
