Annual Report – It’s the easiest to submit…and the easiest to forget
Too often, I’ll notice that business owners fail to perform a simple annual requirement to keep their Limited Liability Company or Profit Corporation in good standing with the Colorado Secretary of State. And honestly, it’s pretty easy to overlook.
Every year at your venture’s organization or incorporation date, registered agents (generally the business owner) should receive a reminder postcard or email from the Colorado Secretary of State. Immediately upon receipt – if your business continues to operate as a going concern – please perform the following steps to remain compliant:
Go to http://www.sos.state.co.us/
Click on Search the Business Database
Enter your business name – then click on Search
Click on your ID Number (underlined in blue)
Click on File a Document
Click on File Annual Report
Confirm or change registered agent and address – then click ‘Submit’
Enter credit card information for payment ($10 filing fee)
THAT’S IT!
Please note that the option File Annual Report will not appear if you are compliant and a number of months from your anniversary.
